With a list of a mere 50, I'm sure you will receive numerous emails suggesting omitted accolades, so let me start it off with this: No Dennis Zacek? Really?

Re no. 4, William Petersen. Before Billy joined Steppenwolf, he became -- and still is -- an associate artist at Victory Gardens. He started his career at VG, he did my play at VG, he's doing another play at VG this year. Nice to see you noticed the extraordinary Sandy Shinner, though. We have a hell of a cast in New York -- Richard Kind, Michele Pawk, Kevin Geer and Donna Bullock -- and she's doing a beautiful job directing the play (as Dennis did with Billy and Amy). (By the way, why the hell isn't Amy on the list? She was nominated for a Tony, just received raves in London, and is one of Chicago's best directors. Jeez.) -- Jeffrey Sweet
